November!

I hope everyone had an awesome Halloween weekend! Mine was good. I discovered that when you are a woman, with a man’s wig on your head, and you’re trimming the wig with electric clippers, you know you’ve gone overboard for Halloween. I was Michael Scott of The Office at my office, for a department costume contest. I was actually sort of digging the tie.

Other news of the weekend – I continue to have internet issues which I am battling with CenturyLink about. Don’t you all love paying for services you don’t get? Let’s keep our fingers crossed that it continues working this time. Hmmmm, what else. I saved a lizard from an untimely feline demise. I realized that my two favorite sodas, Coke and Dr. Pepper, create an amazingly delicious concoction when mixed together.

I got a rejection today. Sigh. I wonder at what point I’m going to have a major writers identity crisis meltdown. I’m sure it’s only a matter of time. But, until then, I’m just going to keep enjoying my favorite season. Can’t believe it’s November! I love, love, love the holidays! And I’m definitely thinking about all my new writer friends that are participating in NaNoWriMo. Good luck everyone!

Well fellow writers, that’s all I have for the moment… I’ve got lots of catching up to do on everyone’s blogs since I haven’t had internet for the last five days. Goodnight!

  2. Thanks for stopping by my blog! It's nice to meet you.

Ugh, I hate paying for services I don't get. At my house, weve been having a struggle with our internet provider for the last year. Today, a technician (from a competitor company) came in, disconnected the old service and set up new phonelines, internet and PVR. I've been testing out the service (I met my NaNo goal today!) and I have to say, I'm a little in love already.

You saved a lizard? That's always good. Though I do love cats.....they are terribly violent. My cat killed a rat and seven babies (in less than an hour) when I let her outside in the summer. I had to take their bodies from her so she didn't keep playing with them. And I was walking her a couple of weeks ago and she managed to kill a bird (on a leash of 3 feet without me noticing until it was too late). She's incredibly cunning. And dangerous to all other wildlife.

I'm glad you saved an animal from a cat, I'm always too slow.

I <3 the office. You get a follow just for dressing up as Michael. (Even though the rest of your blog deserves a follow on its own. ;) )

  4. Sorry about the rejection and the bad internet connection. Now I'm all paranoid about my CenturyLink, but so far, it seems fine. :looks at the blinking modem lights for the dozenth time: Hurray for the lizard's life you saved. I don't want to think about all the tiny deaths my outdoor cat causes. The baby mouse was bad enough.

  6. Michael Scott sounds like a great costume! I want to see pictures!

Oh, and don't worry about the rejection. It's all part of the process. I got like, 20 of them on the first batch of queries I sent out and that numbed me to the pain a little. The more I read agent blogs and such, the more I realize that a lot of rejections are just chance. Not the right time, not the right agent, etc. You'll find the right agent for you!
